Applications
Designed for evaluating the performance of thin films, coatings, surface treatments, bulk materials, lubricating oils, and greases, this testing machine is essential for understanding how these materials behave under stress and repetitive motion.
Fretting wear can have a significant impact on the durability of materials exposed to repetitive motion, particularly in demanding applications like automotive components or aerospace parts. This reciprocating tribometer is designed for evaluating the mechanical and tribological properties of various materials, including lubricants, greases, and coatings. Using a high-frequency exciter, the system generates small, rapid oscillations with a reciprocating frequency range of 10–50 Hz. The upper sample (usually a ball) is pressed against the lower sample (a disc) by an external weight, while the exciter drives the upper sample in high-frequency motion. Whether it’s testing surface coatings, lubricants, or base materials, this testing system is adaptable to the specific needs of industries such as petrochemicals, energy, aerospace, and automotive manufacturing.
